What the hell is Death Metal ?

Well, if you have to ask that, you're not really in the right place are you ? Well...ok...fine... Death Metal is basically a genre of Metal...Extreme Metal to be exact. It's most notable features are the guttural (aka Growling) vocals and machine gun drumming. Some notable death metal bands are Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel and Six Feet Under.

Top 10 Death Metal Bands

AOL has recently came up with their own version of Top 10...surprisingly enough..for Death Metal bands.

So here they are:

10 - Suffocation
9 - Six Feet Under
8 - Nile
7 - Kataklysm
6 - Bloodbath
5 - Amon Amarth
4 - Morbid Angel
3 - Vader
2 - Cannibal Corpse
1 - Death

Don't know about you, but I feel a bit disappointed with that list to be honest, Suffocation deserved a much better place than Morbid Angel (Nothing against them), and so did Nile. Really good bands such as Immolation, Disgorge and Devourment should all have a place in that list.
